An unusual Swedish Empire giltwood striking wall clock from the early 19th century. The white painted Arabic dial signed by the clockmaker ‘Jon. Cederlund Stockholm’ (Jonas Cederlund 1768-1857). The clock is surmounted by a military trophy with a helmet, bow, quiver and laurel leaves. The dial is flanked by two fully carved figures of Apollo and Athena, standing on pedestals with a central mask of Medusa. The lower part of the clockcase is ornate with a shell and accanthus leaves.
The eight day movement, strike on bell, has been professionally revised and is in working condition.
